Better day

Yesterday was rough.  Emily only likes to go to school the days Ms. Rachel is there.  She doesn't put up a fight on Tuesdays and Thursdays but she's not excited either.  When I picked her up from school she wanted to eat her lunch in the car.  I'm sure she was starving since she hadn't eaten since seven in the morning, but I want her to learn to eat in school.  I told her she could eat when we got to Grandma's.  If I really wanted her to learn, I would make her wait until dinner time, but I didn't have the hear to make her wait that long.  She thru a hissy fit and refused to get out of the car when we got there.  She put her arms to her sides once we were inside and wouldn't talk.  That's how I see her behave in school.   She cheered up about 20 minutes later but I had to turn her upside down and tickle her to get her to finally smile.  Then we laid out a blanket and had a picnic on Grandma's living room floor.  Last night was Emily's dance class.  I let her wear her new white tutu she got from the consignment sale and made her a deal.  I would sit in class with her as long as she stood at least two feet away and participated.  She did.....but only when I held her hand.  She probably did more then she has since fall classes started.  The agreement was if she danced, she could wear her new tutu to school.  She didn't do much, so she didn't get to wear it.  Afterwards I brought her back to Grandma's so she could practice the moves I saved her on the computer.  (Grandma's computer is in the kitchen which has a perfect tapping floor)  Again she stood with her arms by her sides and wouldn't talk.  It seems like her social issues are getting worse, and now starting at home.  I cried and worried and cried and worried some more.  Once we got home she was back to her normal happy self.

This morning she was as pleasant as can be.  She got up for school. She was excited she cold wear her purple shirt today.  I can't wait for her new shirts to come in next month so she doesn't have to wear Anthony's old blue ones anymore.  All she kept telling me all morning was how much she loves Ms. Rachel.  When we got to school, she put her lunch box in the refrigerator and Piggy in her cubby.  (that's a good thing because sometimes she refuses until I give up and do it for her.  I had a talk with Ms. Rachel and then walked Emily to the carpet where MaKenna was thrilled to see Emily and told me and Ms. Rachel how much she likes Emily.  Emily wouldn't sit down and came running after me after she refused to give me a hug and kiss goodbye.  I was nervous and thought she was going to cling to me.  Instead she smiled real big and said she wanted to give me a hug goodbye.  She have me a huge hug and then waived.  Today was the easiest drop off ever.

This picture making for Emily is now getting harder (every since it took my 4 tries with several different to try to make a puppy for her)  So I try to make them during Aubrey's nap instead of waiting until the kids go to bed incase I need more time.  Today I discovered that I cannot draw The Little Mermaid, or her friend Flounder, or a ballerina, or even her shoes.  So in tomorrows lunch, Emily will be getting SpongeBob.
