Anthony joined Cub Scouts this month.  We've gone to sign ups and one pack meeting so far.  His friend Huck from CCD is in his den, and also Kaden from his kindergarten class.  Saturday he got to get into the car races for free if he wore his uniform.  He looked so handsome. Grandpa took him and Anthony can't wait to go back.

So far, second grade is going great.  He's gotten 100% on his first three spelling tests.  And extra credit for knowing his vocabulary words too.

Yesterday while taking a shower, Emily sat on her stool and serenaded me while she colored.  She sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the alphabet song.  She reached in the shower and said, "Here you go Mommy." She was handing me one of her bath toys.

Trouble and more trouble

Emily got the pizza box off the stove tonight and when I went to put it away she said, "MINE MINE!"

We only left the room for a minute, to find Emily had used a tube of diaper rash cream (again) as finger paint.  When Anthony found out, he wanted to join in.  So I let him.  If you can't beat em right?

Sunday was the 10th anniversary of 9/11, they day that terrorist hijacked airplanes and crashed them thru the twin towers (The World Trade Center buildings in New York City)  We watched the specials on the History channel and Daddy and I were both thinking how strange it was the our kids will read about that day in their history books at school.

Monday, we watched Connor.  We took Emily and Connor to the first story time at the library.  Connor had a good time.  I asked Connor to take Emily's hand and walk her up to the front to grab an ice cream cone number to add to the chart. He took her hand, but then she walked him to the front to the lollipop basket. She thought library was over.  Both Connor and Emily were standing at the front holding hands looking confused.  It was so funny.  When we got home, I put them both down for a nap. I told Emily to tell Connor good night.  Instead she made fish lips and leaned in for a kiss.  Connor backed up and made a face.  I told him it was ok, he could give her a kiss if he wanted to.  He said "But I don't want to" in his cute little southern accent.

Anthony's school was having an event at school.  U.S Cellular is donating $150,000 to which ever school gets the most votes.  For every vote you turned in, your child got to have their picture taken with a character.  They had Clifford the big red dog, Cinderella, Belle, The Texas Roadhouse armadillo, and the shark from Ripley's aquarium. Emily was excited to see Clifford but wasn't to excited to get his picture taken with him.  Then we had spaghetti dinner at school and watched two plays put on by a 1st and 2nd grade class.  Emileigh, who Anthony's known since day care was in one the first play, The three little pigs.  She was the cutest little pig.  Then we watched the 1st graders perform the same play, but from the wolf's point of view. It was hilarious.

Waving goodbye....Grandma came to pick Anthony up to go to Lowe's to make a police car. Emily talked Grandma into taking her too.

photoshop

This morning I was playing on photoshop.  Anthony thought it was cool that I turned his sister into a cartoon that looked like it came from a book, so I turned us into one too.

Today when I went to put Emily's Halloween costume in her closet, she saw it and said "I want Carmel kitty cat!" I gave it to her and just like the day I got it at the consignment shop, she only wanted to walk around with it and give it hugs like her stuffed animals.  I asked her if she wanted to put it on and just as I expected she said no.  Then I asked her if she wanted a lolipop.  And in went her feet and I got no arguements out of her.  She was a little reluctant to put on the head.  After it was on and I showed her the tail and let her see a picture, she laughed and giggled and crawled on the floor and meowed.  While Anthony was picking out a book for himself for his storytime after Emily goes to bed, he picked up a Cars book and said, "This one is easy enough for me to read to Emily.  So he read her the first book while I started a load of laundry.  Then Daddy came and took our picture.  Anthony is loving storytime.  A couple nights ago we read Captain Underpants and yesterday was Frankie Pickle.  Tonight we started Bunicula.
