Sooo big

Yesterday Anthony made a tie-dye T-shirt at Kids Place.  The kids and I came home and played in the kiddie pool. I don't know how, but Anthony managed to do a flip in only about 20 inches of water. Emily is getting braver. She's still very clingy, but she would bend over and put her face in the water and blow bubbles. She did this several times. Then she did baby squats in the water until the water came up to her mouth. I'm so proud of them. They are getting so big so fast. Before I know it I'll be saying that about my grandkids.

Today I went to pick Emily up from Grandmas. I asked her if she was ready to go bye-bye. She nodded her head and said yes.

The birds and the balls

Anthony: What are balls for?
Me: I don't know. Maybe you should ask Daddy
Anthony: Don't you have balls?
Me: no
Anthony: Do dogs have balls?
Me: Boy dogs do
Anthony: Why do all boys have balls?
Me: I guess because boys like to play with balls
Anthony: Don't girls like to play with balls?
Me: Not like boys do

Kissing dogs?

This weekend Anthony asked me if after I kiss daddy do I get sick. I said, "No why?" He said because we would catch each others germs. Last night Carysa was over they were running around the house playing dog/dog catcher. They asked for a drink. I told them to fill a bowl with water. Anthony asked if they would need to have separate  bowls so they wouldn't catch each others germs. Me, not wanting any extra dishes to clean said "No, you two play together so much you probably already have each others germs." Anthony says, "so that means we can kiss?" Carysa said, "Oh no it doesn't!"

Girlie Girl

At 14 months I already know Ms. Emily will be a girlie girl. She may adore her big brother and love to play cars, and eat dirt. She might like to wrestle and thinks nothing is funnier than a little boy who burps her name. She may fight with me when it's time to change her clothes, but her face sure lights up when she admires her own feet after I put on her pretty purple sandals.

Little Swimmer

Today was pool day at Kids Place.  Anthony had to take a test to see if he was ready to swim in the deep end. He passed. The boy just learned to swim a month ago and he passed. I am so proud of him.

Ran away with the Ogles?

Sunday Anthony asked if he could go to church with the neighbors. In the past when he's asked I've told him no. (I've seen how well he behaves at church) This time I told him it was ok with me but he'd have to ask daddy and if he said yes, he would need a shower. A few minutes later Anthony is nowhere to be found and Johnny said he hadn't seen him either. I found him standing on a chair in his underwear in the closet reaching for his clothes. I told him he had to take a shower first. He said, "I did, smell my armpits." My little man took a shower by himself. So I'm wondering why he always acts like he can't. He even spiked his own mohawk.

Monday we pulled in the driveway. I told him it looked like the brothers were home. He asked if he could go to church with them again. I told him they don't have church on Mondays. (I didn't realize they were having a three day kids event) I told him he could go across the street and play with them for awhile. About ten minutes later, I see the Celina get in the car and drive away. (with her kids and Anthony) Thank goodness Caleb was still home. He said Anthony walked right in the door and asked, "What times church?" Crazy knuckle head.

Emily has nine teeth. Four on top and four on the bottom. She just got a new one in the back. My little big girl. She has been talking up a storm lately. I don't know what she's saying, but she's saying it a lot.

Pools and movies

We went in the kiddie pool this morning. Anthony put his foot in Emily's face, so Emily tickled it and then high fived me.  I took Anthony to the movies to see Despicable me.  It was a cute movie.

Loves his sister.....Shhh

So I'm wondering how one minute Anthony can tell me he hates his sister and then the next he's lifting her out of her crib at bedtime because she's crying and doesn't want to go to sleep.

Dear God, Thank you for all the food. It is delicious, especially the junk food. Amen.

Two Turns

Today the kids almost made me cry.  I had a deja vu moment from my childhood. I was in the middle of feeding both kids like a baby. One bite for Emily, one bite for Anthony. One for Emily, One for Anthony. Then Anthony said, "I want two bites."   It reminds me of when my dad took turns feeding me and my sisters soft boiled eggs.......A bite for each of us until Chris said, "Let's take two turns. Two turns. Two Turns. Two turns."

New Prayer

Anthony insisted on making a new dinner prayer. It goes "Dear God, thank you for the yummy food. We like it. Amen

Cat and Mouse

A couple weeks ago I thought I saw a mouse. When I searched for him, I couldn't find him so I thought maybe it was just my imagination. Nope Carmel found him tonight. At first I thought she was chasing one of Anthony's silly bands. It was dark, but it looked like she had something hanging out of her mouth. Then I remembered, THE MOUSE!  Lucy started going nuts so then I knew... Carmel caught him, then she let him go. She caught him. Then she let him go again. I tried to get a picture, but right as I was taking one, Carmel decided to let him go. He was coming towards me. I was running out of the laundry room screaming like a crazy lady.  Luckily the kids slept thru it. I know Anthony would have been really upset if he knew I was planning to let Carmel do her job and kill the mouse. She caught him again. I could hear her teeth crushing it's bones.. She let him on the ground. She finally let him down after he died .  Johnny promised Carmel he would be bringing her two cans of tuna tomorrow.

Cataloochee Valley, NC.

Today we went to Cataloochee Valley, NC. We know they are known for having elk, but last time we went a few years ago (in winter) we didn't see so much as a deer. So today we were pleasantly surprised to see several elk. At one point I was only 20 feet away from them.

TICKLE FIGHT

Emily can drink out of a straw. She had a sip of Anthony's margarita from Taco Bell and took off running with it. When she took out the straw and started making a mess and I had to take it away. Boy did she throw a hissy fit.

Stealing again and boob questions

Tonight Emily took off with a water bottle. She drank from it several times without spilling, until I tried to take it away. Anthony asked his father why we have boobs. He said, "I don't know, why do you think we have them?" Anthony said, " I think they are a decoration." :-)

We have a walker!

Oh yeah I almost forgot, Emily walks really fast. She started a few months ago, while holding on. She was walking very well and fast before her first birthday and gets faster everyday. Last night she pooped out a penny.

It's been awhile......

Ok, so I haven't updated this blog in forever. Not because I don't have the time, but just because I have been lazy. Emily had her 1st birthday in May. Anthony did better at the end of the school year. We have 3 new pets, 2 bunnies and a turtle. Emily still mostly says Dada and Daddy but I haven't heard Mama in forever. Chris and Larry came to visit a few weeks ago and we got to see Skylar. Johnny started a vegetable garden this spring and so far he has harvested green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers and a few blueberries. It's kind of hard to remember everything now that so much time has passed, but hopefully I'll remember to update more often.
