Yesterday we had our family fun day. I asked to go somewhere new. We went on a long drive and on a scenic drive thru several counties. I knew we were in Sevier, Hamblen and Grainger and I think a few more. Some of the views we saw were very pretty.
Anthony did something that shocked me. He waited until Johnny got out of the car, unbuckled and whispered to me, "Do you know what this means?" while holding up his middle finger so no one else could see. Now with me being the former president and founder of the neighborhood cuss club at 7 or 8, this shouldn't have come to any surprise to me but it did. And I showed it. I finally came up with, "Yes I do, but don't ever do that to anyone. It's like saying I don't like you." That was the best I could come up with. I'm pretty sure the response I got when I was a kid must have been don't do that or something bad will happen, because I remember in elementary school constantly doing that... but inside my desk so no one to see and waiting for something bad to happen.
Today is Johnny's birthday. He is 34. Unfortunately he has to work. My plan is to take Emily to the store this morning and bake him a cake and when Anthony gets home from Kids Place to have Anthony make him a card. Maybe Emily can help.
