I was uploading more pictures to the blog today. Again. (I've been staying up all night for days putting up pictures and some during the day too.) Emily saw me and asked what I was doing. I showed her the blog book I had made for 2010 and showed her some pictures of herself when she was a baby. Of course she thought the baby pictures were of Aubrey. I read the first page while she sat and cuddled next to me. Aubrey was playing in her playpen and Anthony was building his Knex roller coaster. He started laughing and asked me to keep reading. Before I knew it, almost three hours had gone by. I read the entire book to them. I guess they liked it, because Anthony asked if we had anymore. I cannot fall behind on blog updating again. I don't have many stories to go along with the pictures because so much time has passed. It's embarrassing trying to read the stories when my grammar and spelling were so bad. I hope when the kids read the books when they're older, that they don't think their mother wasn't very smart. I just type fast and don't notice the mistakes until I try to read it aloud and hear myself not making any sense. But I still think, while no one loves photos more than me, the stories are the best. I love all the quotes from the kids. They say the funniest things. When I reminded Emily of Aubrey's Christening and showed her the pictures from her own, she asked if she took at a bath at church too.
It's been 48 hours since we left the hospital, so Aubrey finally got to take a bath. I've given her a sponge bath the last two days. It's better than nothing, but I feel better now that she's clean and I'm sure she does do. Her hair is soft again instead of all crunchy from dried milk. I know babies are messy eaters, but she is the first messy drinker I've ever known. Daddy filled her old baby bathtub for me and set it on the dining room table. Then he distracted her so I could pull out the packing without her noticing. It came out easy and was only a few inches long. It was much easier than I thought, but it still gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. I don't want my babies to every have another boo boo again.
Tonight Daddy got us dinner from Zaxby's. I shared mine with Emily and when we were finished I thanked Daddy for dinner.
Me: Thank you for dinner Daddy!
Emily: Yeah Daddy. Thanks for nothing!
She said it with a big smile and not sarcastic at all.
After dinner I told her how sad Uncle Joe was because he missed her so much and asked her if she wanted to make a movie for him. I told her what to say and we practiced the song Aunt Kathy taught her from the show Petticoat Junction. I pointed to her when my camera was recording. She added a little marching dance and went totally off script. It was awesome. She was so adorable. She said her part from the song and then said, "Hey Uncle Joe.....I miss you." in the cutest little voice ever. Then I asked her if she wanted to call Uncle Joe and let him know about his surprise. She said yes. I was shocked because I've offered to call him for her several times and she always says she doesn't want to talk because she's shy, but wants him to come over. She left him a cute message. (I was whispering in her ear what to say because I was afraid she's changer her mind) He called her right back and boy did she get a case of the sillies. She laughed and giggled and refused to hang up. She said she's going to stop being shy and will start talking to people, except strangers. She said she still doesn't want to talk to strangers.
