We chose Mommy's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Joe to be Aubrey's Godparents. Aunt Kathy is also Mommy's Godmother. They came all the way from Baltimore, MD for the occasion. They loved spending time with the kids. They do so much for them and love them so much. It was an honor that they said yes. Aunt Kathy had to work to get Emily to come out of her shell, but it didn't take long. Uncle Joe had to work really hard, but now he and Emily are best buddies. Father Joseph baptized Aubrey. She was actually pretty good in church, until she said her favorite word, "shit." But I'm pretty sure Grandma and I were the only ones that heard. After the ceremony, Aubrey was exhausted so we put her down for a nap. We had to wake her up, or she would have missed her own party. Daddy smoked us some pork loin and we had an indoor bbq. Aubrey loved her grown up dinner and ate every bite, except for the bites we found in her high chair after. Uncle Joe played Legos with Emily and then she invited him to play "kitchen stuff." She brought over a tin full of things from her toy kitchen and Uncle Joe pretended not to know what she gave him so she would correct him and giggle. We explained it to Emily, but she doesn't seem to understand that he's blind. She asked him play cards and paint with her, which he did. They had a great time playing together.
