This morning I took Emily to story hour at the library. Mr. Spence read a funny book about a lazy Irish man. Then the kids did a craft and had a St. Patricks Day party. After I picked Anthony up from school, I took him with me to take some pictures of the pear trees. When he wouldn't pose for pictures, I tried bribing him with fifty cents a smile. It didn't work. Tonight I made dinner/ (this is rare in the Bryant house) I made beef kabobs on the electric grill, fresh fruit, sweet potato fries and corn with red pepper and black beans. I was surprised, but every one ate.
Anthony: Do I have to eat this corn? Can I have broccoli?
Mommy: From now on everyone will eat what I make. I won't be making somethng different for you.
Anthony: (he thought that meant I was going to make the same meal every night and pushed his plate away) We'll I'm not gonna finish this since I'll be having this more often.
Tonight at bedtime I read Anthony the book I checked out from the library (the one Mr. Spence read)
After the story.....
Anthony: I have to tell you something. (with a sly look on his face. He acted like he was going to whisper in my ear but instead gave me a hug and jumped off the bed.) I don't have to go to bed.
Mommy: Why not?
Anthony: I'm smart.
Mommy: Why don't you have to go to bed?
Anthony: I make my own rules now! (as he ran down the hall)
