Snow, cars, and dolls

Last Wednesday we had a snow day.  We got about an inch or two.  Anthony got to stay home from school and the kids played outside.  Even the baby liked the snow.  Anthony built a snowman and Emily helped.

Saturday was the pinewood derby.  Anthony's car looked awesome.  Grandpa helped with the paint job and the wheels. He was a little sad for about a second when his car didn't win, but he got over it pretty quick.  He tried to cheer up his friend Gavin who it took a little harder.  Anthony has a great attitude.  I'm sure he wouldn't mind winning, but he seems to realize the importance of having a good time.

Grandma got Emily a new baby doll this week.  She wanted to name her Aubrey after her baby sister.  Grandma talked her into using her middle name instead.   All day Aubrey tried to take baby Grace from Emily and Emily didn't want to share.  We told Grandma and she came right over with another baby.  Baby Grace is now Baby Rose (named after Emily) and was given to Aubrey.  And Emily now has a new baby Grace that came with all kinds of toys.

Aubrey is so close to crawling.  She's crawling backwards.  Today the kids and I put baby Rose just out of reach of Aubrey.  She got on her hands and knees and moved just a step.  Then she would stretch and reach as far as she could and drag baby Rose to her.  She was very proud of herself.  Especially after her brother and sister and I cheered her on.  She knew she was doing something special.
