Aunt Kathy sent presents in the mail for us. For Daddy and me, she sent birth announcement magnets for us to keep some and mail to our friends and relatives. We will set some aside for the kids for when they're grown. She sent the kids candy and crystal trees. Thursday we called Celina and invited Carysa over since there would be no school Friday for Labor Day weekend. Celina said Carysa had been bugging her to call us so she could come over. Anthony had been doing the same since school started and begging me to call and set up a "play date." They did there crystal trees .She spent the night and we stayed up and watched Battleship. Well, Daddy and Anthony stayed up, us girls got bored and fell asleep. Friday morning they were thrilled to see how the crystal trees turned out. (we've never had much luck with anything crystal in the past) Emily was so excited that she touched them and some of the crystals fell off. Anthony was really sad. We're going to have to ask Aunt Kathy where she got them so we can get more. Then Anthony, Emily, and Carysa did crafts. The used the mask kits Aunt Chris brought on their last visit. Carysa made a lion, Anthony made the man with a beard from Gold Rush (one of his favorite shows) and Emily colored them. Carysa even made me a mask. The kids had so much fun together that Carysa spent the night again. We rented The Lorax. Carysa fell asleep half way thru. She's not so good at staying awake for movie parties but we enjoyed her company anyway.
Sunday was Boomsday. Emily has been asking for weeks when she could see fireworks again. All she could talk about was, "When is Boomsday? When can I go to Boomsday?" We packed up all three kids and went on our first family outing. It was a little rough at first. The kids in the back seat weren't on their best behavior, not even Aubrey. Once we finally found a good parking spot and Aubrey got to eat and the kids got to stretch their legs, the evening was great. Everyone loved the fireworks, even Aubrey. She was more facinated by the street lights but she seemed to enjoy herself too.
Yesterday was my 35th birthday. The kids were all on their best behavior. Emily made me a beautful picture, Aubrey gave me several pretty smiles, and since it was my birthday, Anthony agreed to smile for a picture which turned out to be our first family photo as a family of five.
Tonight we went to PBJs consignment sale in Maryville, which is owned by a former coworker of mine. Nana and PawPaw sent us a check to buy the baby a new high chair. Well not only did we get Aubrey a high chair. We were able to get her a mobile for her crib, a potty baby doll and pretty purple dress up outfit for Emily, and a keyboard, roller skates, and moom shoes for Anthony. Emily had been looking foward to "going shopping" all day and Anthony was dreading it. Anthony has so much fun that as we were leaving he asked me to get the lady's phone number so she can tell us when the next sale would be because he had the best day of his life.
