Look out preschool here she comes......

I am full of so many different emotions right now.  Emily needs help overcoming her shyness.  We know that it's time for her to go to preschool and be without her family to help her with that.  But that doesn't make this any easier.  I've cried twice tonight because reality is starting to sink in.  This afternoon I brought Emily to her new preschool to see if they had any openings.  It's the same school Anthony went to and we all loved it.  Ms. Tania, the owner is so nice and so are her teachers.  All last school year when we pulled up to the parent pick up line, Emily would ask when she would be five so she could go to school.  She got real shy when it was time to meet everyone and wouldn't talk. All the kids that will be in her class were really nice and invited Emily to play.  And Ms. Tania's daughter, Sammy will be in Emily's class.  Emily told me that Sammy was beautiful.

She was nervous afterwards and said she didn't want to go to preschool because she knows I will miss her and she doesn't want to talk to strangers or "mans." Boy is she right. I will miss her.  I feel safer leaving her then I did leaving Anthony the first time because we are already familiar with the school. I wasn't real happy with the first preschool Anthony went to and took him out and moved him to the school Emily will be attending.  But sending Emily to school with be harder on Mommy because when Anthony started school, I was working during the day and didn't get to see him until after I work.  I've been home with Emily for almost three years so this will be a major adjustment.  I've cried twice so far tonight.

Tonight Aunt Kim came with us to Walmart for some back to school shopping for Anthony.  He needed school supplies and new clothes.  I let Emily pick out her own lunch box.  She won't need them for school, but I got her a new pack of crayons, colored pencils, and washable markers to do her "homework" with.  Now she's excited and wants to know if she can start preschool tomorrow. She's been working on her letters tonight and she's doing a great job.  Emily is the sweetest, most loving, hard headed child on this planet and I'm not ready for her to grow up yet.

PC Metals....we took Daddy's old car to the crusher today
I called Grandpa to give him an update about how we were doing with the car.  The first place we tried to take the car, we pulled into the parking lot and it looked abandoned.  We didn't see any crushed cars anywhere.  Since Anthony had been before with Grandpa, I asked if anything looked familiar and if he thought we were at the right place.  He looked around and said, " I don't know.  Last time I was here there was a really tall building and piles of crushed cars. But I guess it could have changed since then.  Grandpa reminded me that Anthony was a lot younger back then so the building probably did look tall.  We were in the right place. We just had to drive around to find this "tall building," which turned out to be a trailer with a tall deck.  Grandpa told me about the time he took Anthony.  He was maybe three or four and thought Anthony would have a fun getting to seeing a car get crushed.  Grandpa said he thinks it was the red van that Daddy drove for a little while that they took.  When Anthony saw what they did to Daddy's van, he started crying and said, "I could have fixed that."

Emily comedy

Grandma and Grandpa left for vacation today so we are dog sitting Debbie.  This morning Debbie was sitting between us and Emily was petting Debbie and Lucy at the same time.  She looked at me and said, "I wish I had three hands and three dogs."

I left my drink on the computer desk and went to put Aubrey down for her nap. She looked in the mirror and waved to herself. Then she put her head down on me and watched us in the mirror.  Sometimes I wish she still needed me to hold her so she could sleep.  I would have held her during her nap if I thought there was a chance of her actually falling asleep.  I came back in the room and my drink was gone.  Emily came and sat in my lap and when I asked if she drank all my drink she said, "Yes. I was going to save you the last sip, but I didn't."

Emily to Daddy..."Can I stay up just a little bit longer? Please! Please!  Think about it!

Emily: Would it be ok if I picked my nose?

Emily: I think our fish need swimming lessons.
Me: You think the fish need swimming lessons?  Why?
Emily:  Cause the big brown one keeps going like this. (spins in circle)
(This comment of hers is especially strange because we don't have a big brown fish)

Aubrey waved to me during dinner. And tonight when I was putting her to bed, she gave me four kisses.  She put her arms around her neck and put her mouth up to my cheek.  When I said, "you gave me a kiss," she smiled and did it three more times.  She's mastered the wave so we've been practicing blowing kisses  She finally made her first attempt today.  When I blow her a kiss, she sticks her finger in her mouth, then takes it out and waves her arm.  She tried to repeat me blowing kisses several times today.  And she is getting her sixth tooth.  She is about to have four up top and two on the bottom.

CPR and Bouncing

The other night during Aubrey's bath, it looked like she was trying to go bobbing for bubbles.  She stuck her face up to the water and opened her mouth.  It was so funny.

Every morning I've been waking up to giggles and squeals coming from the girls' bedroom.  Today they were playing in the playpen together and Aubrey was giggling away.....until I heard Anthony yelling at Emily to quit giving the baby cpr.  Emily said she wasn't, she was just bouncing on her.  Aubrey didn't like that.

Baby baths

I think Aubrey is enjoying her twice daily soaks in the dining room. Today she didn't want to get out.

Emily was playing chalk in the driveway. She made a circle hopscotch all he way from the front door on the porch, down the steps, and down the sidewalk.  She came back and said she ran out of room.  We told her she could keep chalking, but she had to stay where we could see her.  She said, "But I need you to supervise me."

Emily quotes

Emily:  Mmm.  Are those cherries?
Me: Yes.
Emily:  Don't eat the middle.  I ate the middle yesterday and it hurt my throat.

Emily: (walking around writing in her diary) I have to use my resources.
Me: What?  What are you using resources for?
Emily:  I have to use my resources so I can be a teacher.

Daddy's 37th Birthday!

Today was great.  Daddy loved the pictures the kids made him. Grandma and Grandpa's gift to Daddy this year was an adventure. Daddy, Anthony, and Grandma went zip lining.  Yep.  I said Grandma. And she loved it.  They all did.  Afterwards the boys went on a jet boat.  The driver said it had a Corvette engine in it.  It went fast and did all kinds of turns. They couldn't decide what was the most fun, the zip line, the boat, or the jeep ride back on the trail.  Afterwards we come home and made dinner and then had Grandma and Grandpa over for cake.  We sang to Daddy and in a few minutes we're going to watch the new GIJoe movie.

We're all waiting for Anthony to finish his shower....
Me:  Are you almost done yet?
Anthony:  Yeah.
Me:  Have you washed your hair?
Anthony: No
Anthony: Have you washed your body?
Anthony:  Ummm.. That's a negative.
Me:  If you haven't washed your body or your hair, how are you almost done?
Anthony: Well if you think about it, that's only two things.

Guess who's birthday

Daddy's birthday is tomorrow.  I made him a pineapple upside down cake.  Anthony made him a picture earlier and Emily made him a cupcake sand art.

Tonight Aubrey had spaghetti for the first time.  Every time I tried to take her fork and help her "catch a bite" she threw a fit.  She wanted to do it herself.

Me: Emily pick that up (she knocked her little table over)
Emily: Is THAT how you ask?

I wish I would have been there to hear this conversation that Daddy just told me about.....
Daddy:  Guess who's birthday it is tomorrow.
Emily:  Who?
Daddy:  Guess.
Emily: Who's guess?
Daddy:  No Guess isn't a person.  I want you to guess who's birthday it is tomorrow.
Emily:  Who?
Daddy:  Guess
