Emily and I planned on staying and watching Anthony at his Cub Scout lock in like we did last year, but after an hour, they told us we had to leave so we had Mommy and Emily time instead.  I took her to the Disney store and got her a Minnie Mouse nightgown, she wanted the Kermit the Frog doll really bad.  Then we went to Old Navy and got Anthony some mustaches. Then she played on the rides outside the stores, we had dinner at Cracker Barrel and saw Daddy.  When we got back to the lock in Anthony was just about to earn his archery belt loop.

Emily got Anthony an ant farm for Christmas.  We ordered the ants right away, but they wouldn't ship them until the weather was better.  They finally came in the mail.  They were really cool.  Ants are hard little workers. The second they went in their new home, they got right to work making tunnels.  I hope Skylar is liking the ant farm.  We got her one for Christmas too.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

January

In the beginning of January, Anthony and Emily went on a trip with Grandma and Grandpa to Virginia to go to their cousin Skylar's 4th birthday party.  They had a wonderful time and the girls got along great.  Emily tells me that Skylar is her best friend. Every time I tell her she's beautiful, she says, "You know who else is beautiful?  Skylar."  We redid Anthony's bedroom while they were on their vacation and Anthony loved it.  Daddy made him new cubbies and painted and we redecorated.  It doesn't even look like the same room.  Anthony lost two teeth last week.

Anthony is still enjoying cub scouts.  One week they whittled out of soap.  Anthony carved a bear.  He earned his whittling badge last week at the pack meeting.  Last weekend was the lock in.  This time Emily and I dropped him off and had a girl day while Aubrey stayed with Grandma and Grandpa.  Emily and I had dinner at Daddy's work and then did a little shopping.  She starts dance and tumbling class next week and she is so excited.  All she's been talking about for at least the last six months is how she can't wait to go to dance class.

Aubrey is now 6 months old.  She has tried rice cereal and she likes it.  She gets a little upset if I don't feed her fast enough.  She doesn't like to waste time and stop to let me clean her face.  She's ready for that next bite.  She's getting grabby.  You can't hold anything without her trying to take it from you.  She tried to steal my smoothie last night.  She loves her big brother and sister. All they have to do is smile at her and she always gives them a big smile back.  Today she went for her shots.  She didn't like it, but she forgave me after just a minute.

The weather has been crazy this month.  Today there's no school due to heavy rains, wind, and flooded streets.  Last weekend we had an ice storm.  The weekend before that we had snow.  And the week before that we had heavy rains and flooding.  Anthony has missed a lot of school these last two months.

Anthony: That spoon under your pillow thing doesn't work. Me: Why's that. The day's not over yet. Anthony: I put every spoon we had under my pillow and so far nothing. Me: Oh My God! Go put those in the sink. What were you hoping for. A blizzard? Anthony: Yeah, or just enough to play in." (It did end up snowing.  We got about an inch and a half)

Emily to Anthony at bedtime: Come here please. I want to tell you a secret. We're gonna take turns but you don't get a turn. Anthony come here a minute. I want to tell you that it's time for bed. If you pee in your panties they will get stinky. You have to be good in church because if you are on the naughty list, Santa won't bring you presents for Christmas."

Me: Did you wake Aubrey up? Emily: Yes. Me: Why? Emily: I wanted to get the 1st smile. She smiled at me 3 times."

New Years Eve

Sunday Daddy spent his entire day off making Anthony cubbies for his bedroom.  In a few days Anthony and Emily are going to Virginia Beach with Grandma and Grandpa for Skylar's 4th Birthday party. We promised Anthony that while he was gone, we would be redoing his bedroom.  He took it so well when we told him we were having and baby girl and that he would have to move to the smaller bedroom.  In return, we promised him we'd redecorate.  I can't wait to see the look on his face when he gets back from his vacation.

 

 

 

 

Last night was New Year's Eve.  Anthony and I stayed up and watched Back to the Future 2 together after the girls went to sleep.  Then after midnight we watched Back to the Future 3 together while we peeled the paper off of crayons. Today, if he ever wakes up, (he stayed up until almost 2am.  It's almost 1:30pm and he's still in bed) then we are going to melt crayons and make Lego bricks and Lego men from the molds that Daddy and I got him for Christmas.
