Petting Zoo

Today we went with Grandma and Grandpa to the petting zoo. It was so much fun.  I think Emily's favorite part was running around in the goat pen.  It was hard to get a picture of her she was so fast.  She'd pet a goat real quick and then run to the next one.  She must have pet every goat there.  Anthony said his favorite part was the cats :)  We got to see kangaroos, goats, deer, reindeer, elk, emus, horses, miniature horses, pigs, zebras, zonkeys, cows and so many animals.  I kissed a camel.

Summer Movies

The movie theatre in Sevierville plays older movies for the kids on Wednesdays.  This morning Grandma took Anthony to see Ramona and Beezas.  When Johnny got home from work, he took us out for a long drive and then we walked up the Pigeon Forge strip in our pj's and got ice cream.

Tonight Grandma took Anthony, Carysa, Emily, and I to Chic-fil-a for family night.  The craft this week was for Father's Day.  The kids had a good time and made Daddy his present.  Emily was terrified of the cow mascot even though he tried to play peek a boo with her.   They all loved their balloons and the playground.

Anthony was disappointed that we missed our walk today, so Johnny put Emily to bed and stayed with her so we could go.  We called Grandpa to make sure if we walked to his house that if it got to dark he'd pick us up and drive us home. We saw a skunk on the way. I was convinced it was a cat but Anthony insisted it was a skunk. When we got closer I saw that he was right.  Halfway thru our walk Grandpa came driving up and offered us a ride.  Anthony laughed and said he wanted to go. They were following behind me laughing until I sent them home.  I was pleasantly surprised that after they drove home, they walked back to finish with me.

Emily's new words:  Come, (she says this to Lucy a lot) Pool, and Boy, Hiney, and Cry.  And she can count from 1 to 4.  She makes animal sounds for pigs, (she doesn't say oink, she snorts) chickens, dogs, cats, and bears.  But the cutest is to hear her say ribbit in a soft little voice.

1st Summer library day

Yesterday was the first Summer library day for the kids.  With Anthony there, Emily did so much better.  Anthony took Emily to sit with him on the carpet. At first she didn't want to but then she laid on his lap for the entire time. After a few minutes she forgot I was even there.  The lady from the Comedy Barn came with four dogs.  First she taught dog safety. Then her dogs did tricks. At the end she let all the kids stand in line and take turns petting the dogs.  Mr. Spence had a 'traveling suitcase' and had a prize in it for each child.

 

Then we went home and the kids woke Daddy up from his nap.  Emily would count to three and then body slam him.  Anthony gave Daddy a wedgie so bad his underwear ripped.  They had a great time wrestling.

Aunt Kim came over and played in the kiddie pool and blew bubbles with the kids.  After Emily went to bed,  I asked Aunt Kim if she would stay with the kids so I could go for a walk.  Usually Anthony doesn't want to go so I was surprised that he asked if he could go too. Right as we were leaving Daddy came home.  So the three of us, and Lucy went for a nice long walk.  We went down the street behind us and to the creek.  Anthony practiced tricks on his scooter and we saw a huge butterfly chrysalis and an entire field full of baby's breath.  After our walk, the grown ups watched Little Fockers.

Emily used the potty!

I wasn't having much luck with Emily on her potty seat this morning.  After lunch, she told me  "ribbit ribbit."  I asked her if she had to go pee pee.  She said "yep", so I took her to the bathroom to use her new seat. She refused to sit on it and then peed on her changing table when I was getting her dressed.  Grandma came over and helped.  She had her sit on her potty seat with her clothes on.  Then she convinced her to try with her pants off.  The best motvation was her big brother.  Every time she stood up we said "Anthony's turn" and he would come over.  Emily didn't want anyone on her seat so she would race him to the seat and sit back down. When she said down, she would say "ahhh" and later she said "a book, a book."  She read her books and after about thirty minutes she peed just a little.

Friday: took Anthony, Emily, Lucy, and Carysa for a walk to Aunt Kim's house

Saturday: Spent the day with Grandma. She got Emily her new 'Ribbit' potty seat.  She loves it.  (to bad not for using to go potty)

Today was library sign ups in Sevierville.  They had stations set up for the kids.  One had sling shots, another had bean bag toss, another had a kiddie pool with toy sailboats. There were tables set up with cotton candy and popcorn.  They were selling used books. I got interviewed by the Mountain Press newspaper.  It was  a really hot day.  Both kids favorite part seemed to be Emily pushing Anthony in the stroller.  Neither looked like they were having that much fun but they didn't want to leave. Afterwards we went to go see Daddy at work. He was excited to see us.
