Mommy's Bday

Yesterday was Mommy's 34th birthday.  We Daddy got off work he took us to Knoxville to see the Boomsday fireworks.  I can now cross watching fireworks in the rain off my bucket list.  Ok, so that was never on the list, but now I can add it and cross it off.  It was definately something to see.  I'm assuming the rain is what made the smoke last so long.  We could see most of the fireworks but when they set a bunch off in a row, you could see this huge smoke cloud light up.  It was pretty cool.  This year they had heart shaped, star shaped, and even smiley face fireworks.  They were the best, maybe because we hadn't seen them before. I don't know.  Towards the end they had some I couldn't even describe.  It was like it rained up instead of down.  And instead of water it was fireworks.  They weren't as tall as regular fireworks.  It looked almost like glittery stars shooting up in the air.  Last night when the show was over and we got back in the car, Emily asked "Firework all gone?" I said yes and she said " Emme wanna see more."  This morning I showed her the movie I took of the fireworks.  She kept insisting on watching it over and over until finally I got bored of the show and showed her other firewords on youtube. But she wanted to see OUR fireworks.

A little out of order

I can't remember everything we've done recently.  A lot has been going on this last month, with Anthony starting school again, Emily's hospital visit, and our visit from Aunt Chris and Skylar.   Emily loves to rub Johnny's new haircut and giggles.  Wednesday we watched Conner while his mommy went to school.  Emily found the new ponytails in her drawer that I was saving for when she got bigger and asked me put 'balls' in her hair.  Her hair was still wet so while we waited for hers to dry we did mine instead.  Then we had matching hair.  Anthony started ccd.  He should be getting his first communion this year.  Anthony has a 4 day weekend from school for Labor Day so Friday grandma took him to parrot mountain.  Last night at story time, instead of reading a short book we started a chapter book called Captain Underpants.  It was so funny we ending up staying up until eleven and reading the whole thing.  Last month Grandma and I went to a consignment sale ran by a girl I used to work with and got Emily a new tricyle and huge Elmo stuffed animal.  She loves them both.

Unexpected vist

Last week we got an unexpected visit.  Hurricane Irene was headed to the east coast so Aunt Chris and Skylar decided to run from the storm to Tennessee.  Although we were worried for Uncle Larry, who had to stay and work, and for their home, we were excited.   The kids had so much fun with Skylar.  We mostly stayed home and enjoyed watching the kids play.  Anthony made Skylar a choo choo track for when she got here.  The girls had conversations with each other, which was so adorable.  Aunt Chris and I took the girls to Walmart while Anthony was in school.  We switched kids and I pushed Skylar and Aunt Chris pushed Emily.  Both girls were so well behaved and I think they had fun.  We also took all three kids to McKay's bookstore. Anthony got two Spiderman video games and lots of chapter books to read at storytime before bed and Skylar got some movies to keep her entertained on her trip home.  I hope they don't get any more hurricanes this year but it sure would be nice to get to see them again soon.  Now every morning when Emily wakes up she says," I go Gagas to see Skyloor!"
